Elena Vladimirovna Chirkova graduated from Lomonossoff Moscow State University (Faculty of Economics) with a candidate’s degree in the economy of foreign countries. She continued her post-graduate studies at Claremont Graduate School (California, USA). She took several courses at the Financial Institute of Amsterdam and INSEAD on financial matters. In 1993–1996 she gave lectures at the Faculty of Economy of MSU on corporate finance. She worked for Faculty of Economy of Harvard University in 1997. She works for the Chair of Corporate Finance at the «Higher School of Economics» State University since 2005. She gives lectures on «Applied corporate finance».
Elena Chirkova has previous working experience as a Head of Investment Department of the Bank of Moscow (2008–2009 years), Director of the Moscow representative office of the Rothschild’s Investment Bank (years 2007–2008); Head of the merger and acquisition department of Deloitte (years 2002–2007); Vice President of the Investment Banking Department of «Troyka-Dialog» (years 1998–2001); President of the RINACKO management company (year 1996).
She specializes in developing financial strategies, elaboration of enterprise financial models and calculation of anticipated profit of the enterprise. She has vast experience in fund raising, including the analysis of investment attractiveness of the company, preparation of business plans, corporate finance structuring, developing various frameworks of financing and their comparative analysis, searching potential investors and creditors, negotiating conditions of fund raising.
